|
This study was performed to investigate the influence of sexual attitude and sexual need coping behavior of the elderly on their subjective happiness, focusing on the mediating effects of health and depression. In this study, sexual attitude and sexual need coping behavior of the elderly were used as independent variables, with subjective happiness of the elderly used as a dependent variable while health and depression were used as mediate variables. The data were collected from the elderly above 60 in Chungbuk region and analyzed by LISREL 8.30. The results of this study were as follows. First, it was found that the sexual attitude of the elderly did not affect their subjective happiness. However, it was found that the sexual need coping behavior of the elderly affected their subjective happiness positively. Second, it was found that the sexual attitude of the elderly affected their health positively and affected their depression negatively. Also, it was found that the sexual need coping behavior of the elderly affected their health positively and affected their depression negatively. Third, it was found that the health of the elderly affected their subjective happiness positively while the depression of the elderly affected their happiness negatively. Fourth, through the above study results, it was verified that the elderly’s health or depression showed complete mediating effect between the elderly’s sexual attitude and their subjective happiness, and showed partial mediating effect between the elderly’s sexual coping behavior and their subjective happiness.
